Binding the F2-F12 Keys (with Gestures)
Included in your package are 11 gestures. If you activate those gestures, your F2-F12 keys on your keyboard will then operate your EZAD. F2-F11 correspond to the 10 text buttons which list animations and the F12 button corresponds to the stop button.
Important: these gestures do not do anything on their own. They do not have sounds or animations or emotes connected to them. They give you an alternative way to click the buttons on your HUD.

I don’t understand how to change the gestures for the F2-12 text buttons. It seems the buttons change. Can you explain this further?

Here is what you do:
– Wear your HUDDLE EZ Animator Deluxe
– Find these 11 gestures in your personal inventory and activate them.
– Touch your F2 key on your keyboard.
The first animation on the list of buttons should play. F2-F11 correspond to the 10 text buttons on your HUD and the F12 button works the same as touching the Stop button on your HUD.
Now if you are talking about editing those gestures, I would first make a copy of them. Then right click on it and choose Open. You might want to change it so that it works when you hit Ctrl-F2 rather than just F2 for instance.

oh, I understand now. Thanks. It wasn’t what I was looking for though, as I wanted to have my dances loaded and playing AND also be able to press an F2-F11 key to have a gesture play that isn’t in the loaded notecard. Something like a howl, greeting, etc.
Thanks for the quick reply! I’m having a lot of fun playing with the HUD. I’m finding it is extremely versatile.

I have to admit this is an area I’m not all that clear on either – but this makes the water a little less muddied – thanks

I noticed the getstures have commands like /99button1 are there other commands for activating other buttons for example /99dance /99loadnotecard /99invite etc etc? or can other buttons be named button 1 button 2 and so on?
Lets say you port into a laggy club your huddle is in your butt if you reattch it it takes for ever to rez and then you may or may not see the text. then you could use vocal commands or gestures to get to dancing and inviting your freinds. I hope i was clear with my question.

There are some other commands like /99target, /99update and /99reset. I’ll try to get something more comprehensive up on the help site soon.

Do you make a huddles that organizes and plays your gestures?
July 27th, 2008 at 3:19 pm
I would if I could Random. There just isn’t any way to do that. Scripts in SL cannot play gestures. The EZ Animator Deluxe uses macros which can work like gestures and actually do a lot more than gestures can do.

Hi Keiki, Question from Random :Do you make a huddles that organizes and plays your gestures?: and say a Huddle can not play Gestures? if a micro plays text (puts text in the input box) and / back slash can be a invisible chat call why can it not be a trigger for a gesture?
August 3rd, 2008 at 10:01 am
Well, the text that comes from the HUD is coming from an object, not your keyboard, not your avatar. Notice that it is displayed in a different color in your chat history. Gestures cannot be triggered by chat from objects. I would need to test it, but I don’t think gestures can be triggered from dialog messages either. Gestures can only be triggered from keystrokes.

Hi Keiki, I was hoping that I could trigger spells and gestures with your Micros, but I can not even get the rext to come up on screen, a long way from spell casting, any idea’s?

I just purchased your product, so bear with me a little. I’ve activated the gestures, but the F2 though F11 buttons don’t do anything. I am assuming I’m doing something very wrong. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Rich, you need to be wearing the HUD as well. All the gestures do is give you an alternate way to click the buttons.

Terrible instructions, ie > Included in your package are 11 gestures. If you activate those gestures, your F2-F12 keys on your keyboard will then operate your EZAD. F2-F11 correspond to the 10 text buttons which list animations and the F12 button corresponds to the stop button.
Nonsence! the gestures that play are YOUR personal gestures so i`m assuming you add the gestures that came with the hud into YOUR gesture folder!
No wonder people are having problems with this.

I’m sorry, Nav, if this doesn’t make sense. All the gestures do is bind the F2-F12 keys to the HUD.
When you activate the gestures that come with the HUD and then click the F2 button, for instance, it would be the same as if you clicked the first animation on the list of buttons. F3 is the next animation and so on. F12 works as a stop button.
I’m not sure what part you think is nonsense, but if you think it could be explained better, please let me know.

1) What are the gestures? It would be helpful if you told what they are. Like Nav, I feel like I might be triggering some of my own gestures. Don’t know.
2) How do I substitute other gestures. Most of the ones that seem to come with the product are not useful to me.
3) Do you have to have a certain configuration of the HUD selected in order for the buttons to work?
4) What is the point of triggering walks that don’t go anywhere?
February 15th, 2009 at 11:25 pm
Sylvan, I think you are completely missing the point of these gestures. The only purpose of these gestures are to let you use the Function keys on your keyboard to operate your HUD. Instead of clicking on a button with your mouse, you hit the button on your keyboard. If you are still confused by these gestures, please contact Connor Trudeau in world.

Did you read my message? Your reply is completely non-helpful.

I am also confused about the gestures. What gestures will be activated? Lest say I load the SL animations card in the HUD. Do the F keys activate the fisrt animations listed in that card?
July 14th, 2009 at 9:38 am
When you have the gestures activated and you press the F keys on your keyboard, the HUD will play whatever is listed on the 10 text buttons. It might be the first 10 animations on the note, or the 2nd ten or 3rd ten. It’s whatever is listed on the buttons.

I will start by saying, I love this HUD. It is so convenient, I don’t need different huds for AO and dancing etc.
Is there a way to set the F2-F12 keys to trigger the menu items (ex: Random, Invite or AO) instead of one of notecard items? I use my EZ Animator primarily as a Dance HUD, so once I load a notecard I have the ‘set’ of dances I want to use available. It would be more convenient to be able to control starting/stopping and inviting people to join me.
If this isn’t something that is possible now, is it an option that can be added in the future?
